Simtech Data Services is a technology consulting firm that integrates technology and your business processes to create long term business solutions to today’s business challenges. Formally Sims Computer Resources, Simtech Data Services has been serving satisfied customers within the greater Victor Valley for over 15 years.
Mike Sims is the President of Simtech Data Services. Mike started consulting business customers in 1990. Then in 1995 he earned the then prestigious credential of Certified Novell Engineer. He spent the next three years working for a High Desert based Information Technology consulting firm. He left that firm to become the City of Victorville’s only Network Administrator.
Mike grew the City of Victorville computer network from two fileservers and 70 workstations and one remote location, to 36 fileservers, over 300 workstations and 17 remote sites. He also led the charge of converting the city from an antiquated phone system over to fully integrated voice over IP (VoIP) network, which helped the city realize a savings of $250k annually. Additionally, Mike managed over 1M annually for the City; and had a staff of six available to him, which included Specialists, Technicians and Interns.
While at the city, Mike began attending California Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, pursuing his business degree in Computers and Information Systems.
Mike continued to consult for small businesses during his career at the city. In August of 2005, Mike had an opportunity to consult fulltime by combining his existing clients with clients from All Technology Services - a local consulting firm. Mike formed Simtech Data Services, Inc. where he uses his expertise to assist small businesses with new projects and the occasional problem.
Mike is always looking forward for opportunities to better support his clients. Recently Mike became certified as a C-7 Low Voltage Contractor in order to offer his clients voice and data cabling as required. Simtech is also Microsoft Certified Small Business Specialist.
